From Tech Neck to Posture Pro

Research consistently shows that spending more than six hours a day working on a computer significantly increases the risk of developing physical issues like back pain and "tech neck."
In high-demand environments like IT, the risks aren't just physical—mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, and depression are also prevalent. However, regular physical activity can be a powerful remedy for both physical and mental well-being.

 

The Studies

At Inuits, we actively encourage our team to engage in sports and exercise to mitigate these risks. Studies show that regular aerobic exercise helps improve cognitive functions like memory, attention, and processing speed and significantly reduces stress by lowering cortisol levels, the hormone associated with stress. Additionally, physical activity is proven to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, while boosting overall mood and psychological well-being.

 

The Team

Whether it’s our weekly runs, squash matches, or participation in events like the Business Run, Warsaw Marathon, and Runmageddon, staying active is a core part of our culture. Thanks to our friends at Slava, our Strava activities are shared in our dedicated Sports channel on Slack, where colleagues can cheer each other on and keep the momentum going. We also use our weekend retreats to introduce the team to new sports and activities, encouraging a balanced and active lifestyle.

 

 

While we’re not aiming for the Olympics, we’re inspired by the Olympic spirit championed by IOC Founder Pierre de Coubertin: “The most important thing is not winning but taking part.” For us, incorporating sports into the workplace is about more than just physical activity—it’s about boosting focus, reducing stress, and fostering a healthier, happier, and more productive team.
